Please call our Office at
415-722-1449 to ask questions, check on availability of the trip, and to
determine if this trip is for you. While most of our trips are designed to
introduce participants to adventure activities, they can involve a dramatic
change in routine and do come with some risk. Participants are responsible for
selecting a trip appropriate to their abilities and be
of sufficient good health to undertake the trip. Each participant must sign a
Waiver and Assumption of Risk form before beginning a trip.

Tents and tent rental
information:
Because of the limited
number of Cabin and Dome Tents available, no refunds will be given once
rented. All tents,
rented or not must be occupied by a minimum of half of their rated occupancy
numbers. Example, an 8 man tent
must have at least 4 participants occupying it during this event. A 4 man tent
must have at least 2 people.
This is to keep the campground manageable. Step Out Adventures'
employees have the right to move participants into any tent not fulfilling this requirement or remove the structure from
the campground. Should the tent be
removed, the tent dwellers must find accommodations already set up or rent an
appropriate size tent from the outfitter, if available.
Cancellations and
Refunds:
If you must cancel your
trip, please notify us as soon as possible. Upon receipt of a written notice
prior to June 7, 2010, you will receive a full refund less your deposit. Any cancellation made after June 7, 2010
will not be eligible for a refund. You
may, however, substitute another person with no penalty. We highly recommend trip cancellation
insurance.
Non-Performance:
Step Out Adventures
reserves the right to cancel any trip due to weather, water conditions, or
other good cause beyond our control. Should this become necessary, your unused
monies will be refunded or fully credited toward another trip. If we determine
on the day of your trip that conditions exist on a particular river to make it
unsafe or unrunnable, then we reserve the right to
change rivers, if possible, rather than reschedule your trip. If we must cancel
your trip due to insufficient reservations, your money will be refunded. All
credits shall be limited to the amounts actually paid to Step Out Adventures
and will not include any other expenses incurred by participants.
Equipment:
The Equipment to be used
on River Bear Retreat 2, will be high-quality professional river equipment,
Coast Guard approved life jackets, and full safety and emergency gear. On this
trip, PADDLE BOATS will be used, with six to eight rafters plus your guide. Our
chosen outfitter has a 100% excellent safety record.
Lifejacket and boat size
limitations:
All lifejackets are Coast Guard approved must be worn by participants. Only
lifejackets supplied by chosen outfitter are allowed to be
worn and because of liability issues the following are size limitations
in which these lifejackets and boats can handle safely:
South Fork - 56 inch chest and 300 lbs
Middle Fork - 52 inch chest and 280 lbs - limit due to safety issues.
Step Out Adventure
release of liability waiver:
All participants must
read the Step Out Adventures River Bear Retreat Release of Liability Waiver,
acknowledge that they have read, understand and agree to its terms before
participating in the event. This
waiver must be signed and dated prior to participating in any River Bear
Retreat activities. A copy of this
waiver may be requested before signing up.
Employees of Step Out
Adventures or of it's outfitter have the right to refuse participation by any
person(s) they seem unfit to do so for any reason, at any time before or during
the event to protect the safety of that individual or of other
participants. That person(s) will
not be eligible for any refund associated with the trip.
